Dr. Robert F. Browning became the pastor of Smoke Rise Baptist Church in January, 1999. He has a BA degree from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky and two degrees, the M.Div and D.Min, from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. He was ordained by the First Baptist Church of Greenville, Kentucky in January, 1970.

He and Jackie were married in June, 1970 and have three children, Jason, Amy Blair and Josh. They have four grandchildren.

Dr. Browning has been active in Baptist life all his ministry, in his earlier years through the Southern Baptist Convention and more recently through the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. In 1994-95, he served as President of the Kentucky Baptist Convention.

He has traveled on mission trips to Honduras, Russia, Brazil, Mexico and Kenya in addition to several cities in America.

He has been a columnist for The Commonwealth Journal and has had articles published in the Western Recorder, the state paper for Kentucky Baptists. His sermons can be found on the Baptist Center for Ethics website, www.EthicsDaily.com.
